The Portland AIGA asked us to help host one of their monthly meet-up events, and we said we would as long as The Pressure got to create the brand and communication around it. We decided to create a conceptual twist on the traditional “networking” event and try and find practical methods of creating a deeper connection in what is often seen as an opportunistic experience. By creating mandatory “big questions” that each person greeted each other with, we found that the conversations steered to the personal, existential and relatable rather than navel-gazey, job and design-focused. It was pretty magical.
